Use a Specialist Walking Company
Please note we are a specialist walking company - walking is our business. There are several accommodation providers online who are trying to cater for the walking market - many of these are not licensed tour operators and cannot provide the detailed and specialist help that a professional walking company can provide - they often advertise "walking packages" based at their own accommodation. We live eat and breathe walking - it's what we do for a living and we are constantly looking to improve. If you wish to go on a walking tour - we advise you to go through a reputable specialist walking company - not an accommodation provider who also happens to offer walks - for many of these businesses "walking packages" are an "add on" and simply a means of trying to attract more business - it is not their main business - they will be unlikely to be able to provide you with the same level of professional knowledge, advice, experience and service as us.
Pricing
Please note all our prices are P.O.A. (price on application).
This is simply the easiest way for us to handle the many requests we get - factoring in variables such as twin share, single, dorm room, deluxe cabins, catered, non catered, Easter peak period, off peak, etc can lead to a bewildering array of prices.
You tell us what you want - and we'll let you know how much it costs.
If you want to go away at Easter, Christmas, New Year or public holidays - book early or be prepared to miss out. Accommodation at these times in Australia is always snapped up early.
Our prices are competitive and we easy are to deal with. Once you can get your information together (see below) and present us with an enquiry, we will respond within 24 hours.
Great Ocean Walk

Victoria's Great Ocean Walk is well suited to self guided walking. It is well signposted and marked and the only things you need worry about are the weather and the tides. At 104km in length you can walk as little or as much as you like depending on your time available and how far you wish to walk each day. The only real proviso is that Parks Victoria wishes all walkers to walk from east to west.
We mostly use one main accommodation provider at Cape Otway who has a large range of accommodation to suit different styles and budgets. We can also arrange full catering for groups of 6 or more. If you have a preference for a specific accommodaiton we can book this also - always according to availability.
Our shuttle driver collects walkers every day of the year and is part of our team. He will ensure you are collected each morning and afternoon from your pre arranged location.
We tailor a walking package just for you. We need you to tell us:
- a contact name and contact details (email, phone)
- numbers in your walking party
- level of accommodation (van, dorm, bunkroom, deluxe ensuite cabin
- style of accommodation (single, twin, double, group)
- number of days you wish to walk
- your booking dates
- if you require transport down to Apollo Bay or Cape Otway
Once you can put all this information together in an enquiry we will respond within 24 hours with a quote and suggestions and we can take it from there.
Victorian High Country

Victoria's High Country is perfect for the walker with some experience. We have identified a number of interesting and diverse walking loops which will expose you to the varied and scenic nature of our historic high country, from exposed undulating and rocky peaks, to historic cattlemen's huts, to rolling snowplain country and aqueduct trails. You may even see a wild brumby or two. If there is anywhere in particular in the High Country you wish to visit, we can look at factoring that in too.
Our High Country walks are usually based at Falls Creek though on request - and depending on your itinerary - we can look at basing elsewhere. For example, Harrietville or Dinner Plain make sense if you wish to walk the Razorback to Mount Feathertop. If you wish to complete a traverse from Hotham to Falls Creek, we can arrange accommodation at either end.
To make it easy we provide detailed track notes and a reliable map as well as GPS data for those who wish this extra detail. All our High Country self guided walks include:
Again you need to supply us with the following information and then we will tailor a package just for you:
-
a contact name and contact details (email, phone)
-
numbers in your walking party
-
style of accommodation (single, twin, double, group)
-
number of days you wish to walk
-
your booking dates
-
if you require transport to Falls Creek
Once you can put all this information together in an enquiry we will respond within 24 hours with a quote and suggestions and we can take it from there.
A Little Family History
We love the High Country - it's the area we cut our teeth on as youngsters learning how to bushwalk. For those with an interest in history here are some treasured photos from my father's record of a walk he and his mates did in 1953 from Harrietville to Tawonga via Feathertop, the Bogong High Plains and Mount Bogong.
