WALKING VENUES: MT FEATHERTOP & THE RAZORBACK

Mount Feathertop is Victoria’s second highest and most spectacular mountain peak. The Razorback ridgeline walk is one of Australia’s most stunning and iconic walking adventures and comes highly recommended. Mt Feathertop is joined to Mount Hotham by the 10.3 km long Razorback ridgeline, a rugged and at times saw toothed and narrow ridge which totally dominates the alpine scenery east of the Ovens River.

Mt Feathertop is not to be underestimated by walkers in any season. Numerous accidents have occurred here, including the recent rescue of Victoria’s state water minister who became lost after sliding off the western face of Mt Feathertop during the winter of 2009.

Australian Walking Tours is ideally placed to guide you and ensure your safety. Our guides are involved in alpine search and rescue and participated in the 2009 Mount Feathertop search for a walker missing on Feathertop's upper flanks. We regularly guide the Razorback in winter on our snowshoe adventures and consider it part of our “backyard”.

Starting from Melbourne, our Feathertop Adventure is a three day trip which includes transport, accommodation, meals and guides. Accommodation is at a cosy Australian country Pub in Harrietville.

Our Feathertop Adventure starts at Diamantina near Mt Hotham and finishes at Harrietville. We finish with celebratory drinks and meals at a cosy country Pub!

A minimum six is required to run this tour.
